该片记录了中国福建省一所普通中学高年级毕业生的真实生活。高三的生活日复一日简单而沉重，痛苦却也快乐。和蔼而严格的班主任，紧张又努力的尖子生，逃避生活的“穷学生”，痴迷于爱情的“早恋生”，学生的家长，每一个经历过高三的人。高中的同学对于超越高三有着自己的见解和期望。影片的记录真实而直白。通过高中生活的记录，让人感受到的不仅是为理想而奋斗的浪漫，还有一种如鲠在喉的悲伤。
《高三》中学班主任王金春一开始就表示：如果我们是中学教育圈的人，他们肯定会理解我们的做法，但那些专家学者可能对我们有意见。但我们还是坚持这样的教育，因为如果我们不这样做，我们就会对不起学生和家长。
本片开头和结尾的背景音乐是班里女生唱的《那些花儿》，“她们被风带走，散落在世界的尽头”。清亮的歌声承载着青春不可挽回的温柔伤痛，诉说着高三的伤痛。很甜蜜，让人有同感。
2.《高考》

其中《毛坦厂的日与夜》作为纪录片单独荣获2016中国纪录片节竞赛单元第三名。毛坦厂中学被誉为“亚洲最大的高考工厂”。学生日夜接受训练以获得成绩；父母搬进来陪伴他们，放弃自己的事业以确保孩子能上大学；老师高压严格，通过闭路电视严密监控自习情况，甚至可以进屋突击检查。考场如战场，只允许胜利，不允许失败。这或许就是当下中国社会的一个缩影。
3.《最好的我们》
改编自奥古斯特长安的同名小说。《最好的我们》然而，它却让我们耳目一新地向我们展示了一群普通高中生如何学习、生活、静静地培养小情感。当然，这或许不是每个人的高中，但至少他越来越接近现实了。
女主人公耿耿是一个被命运眷顾的贫困学生。由于非典，当年中考难度降低，让成绩并不突出的女生尝到了甜头，意外考入了重点学校振华中学。上课听不懂，文科和理科混淆，而现实是高中重理科轻文科。
